Transformer
Next generation of fixed wing VTOL drones
A novel Vertically Takeoff and Landing concept that significantly improves performances
About
We develop the Vertical Takeoff and Landing drone of tomorrow
Transformer is a startup developing a novel Vertical Takeoff and Landing Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (VTOL UAV). The new concept dramatically improves flight performances. A POC model was build. flight tests show dramatic range and endurance improvement over present VTOL UAVs.

Our Solution
Transformer outperforms current VTOL drones
A typical VTOL (Vertical Takeoff and Landing) vehicle is basically a combination of an airplane and a multi-rotor or a rotor aircraft. This second part adds much weight and drag when at the level flight stage, and it considerably reduces range and duration of flight of the VTOL. TRANSFORMER introduces a radically novel solution: The aerial vehicle rapidly rotates around itself, becoming its own huge rotor and enabling an efficient hovering. After taking off, a simple transition transforms it to a level flying vehicle, without the penalties of weight and drag.
Easy Usage
The Transformer is light weight, small dimensions drone. It will easily fit in any car or will be hand carried. Any open space can be the taking-off or landing site. Assembling and preparation for flight are quick. Taking-off and the transition to a level flight are autonomous as well as the recovery

Vertical Takeoff and Landing (VTOL), with Fixed-Wing Drone Performance:
Opportunities
Current Drones have Significant Limitations, Preventing Implementation in Numerous Use Cases
There are various types of drones available on the market with widespread use. Different drone technologies suffer from limitations that prevent their implementation in key use cases. Multicopters, while maneuverable and easy to operate, suffer from low range, low flight endurance and limited payload capacity. Fixed wing drones improve on these limitations, but require cumbersome takeoff and landing infrastructure. Fixed wing Vertical Takeoff and Landing (VTOLs) drones offer flexibility in takeoff and landing as well as medium range, flight endurance and payload capacity. These capabilities however, are still limiting for implementation in numerous civil and military use cases, where longer range, endurance and payload are required.
A huge, rapidly growing market
The global market for VTOL drones reached $6.4 billion 2022, is projected to reach $27.5 billion by 2030, growing at a CAGR of 19.9% . The military segment is projected to reach $16.5 billion in 2030, growing at an impressive 21.5%. The commercial segment is also projected to grow at a 20.3% CAGR. The US market reached $2B in 2022 (31% of the market). Other key regions include China, Japan, Canada, and Germany.
